WHO ARE WE?

Tau Beta Sigma is a national honorary music service sorority. Founded in 1946, its purpose was to promote women in music, provide exceptional service to collegiate bands, and to boost the appreciation of music everywhere.

Alpha Omega is the name of the chapter at Florida State University. Founded in 1955, it is currently the oldest chapter in the southeast district. The chapter has a close relationship with the Marching Chiefs. Every year we raise funds by designing and selling new spirit apparel. These funds allow us to support the Chiefs in other ways, such as contributing to uniform cleaning services, providing water for Chiefs at football games, and helping to put on the annual Marching Chiefs banquet. In addition to providing financial support, members of our chapter are represented in all levels of leadership.

Founded on May 14, 1955, the Gamma Nu chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi is a fraternal organization that serves the university band program at Florida State University.

With a commitment to serve, Gamma Nu hosts events like the Marching Chiefs 5K in the fall and the Kappa Kappa Psi Chili Cook Off in the spring to raise money for the Marching Chiefs. Kappa Kappa Psi operates primarily as a student service and leadership recognition society whose chief aim is to assist the Director of Bands in developing the leadership and enthusiasm that is required of his/her band. The honorary nature of membership is based on our premise that “it is an honor to be selected to serve” this band, its department of music, its sponsoring institution, and the cause of band music in the nation’s colleges and universities.
